91, died October 15, 2011 in Houston, TX. Born in Riverside, RI on September 2, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Earl E. and Mary L. (Finley) Moore. She was the wife of the late George A. Allen.
"Loretta" was a homemaker devoted to her family; and she enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels.
Her sons, George Allen and wife Kathryn of Portsmouth, RI, Earl Allen and wife Gail Allen of Hartland, ME and Donald Allen and wife Lauri Allen of Kingwood, TX, survive her. She leaves 12 grandchildren, Dr. George Allen and wife Mary Yurek of Portland, ME, Christina Richardson of Portsmouth, RI, Christopher Allen of Hartland, ME, Bridgette Cardona of Tampa, FL, Debborah Kaitz and husband Dr. Steven Kaitz of Concord, NH, Michele Mills and husband Christopher Mills of Wellington, FL, David MacFarlane of Largo, FL, Nicholas Allen and wife Heather Allen of Las Vegas, NV, Kevin Allen and Kelly Allen of Kingwood, TX, Mary McNulty of Warren, OH and Margaret McNulty of Largo, FL. She also leaves 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A son, Steven Allen and daughters, Donna MacFarlane and Rosemary McNulty, predeceased her. She was also the sister of the late Arlene Rose.
Visitation hours are from 11 a.m. to 12-noon, Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, RI.
Funeral services will follow at the Chapel at St. Ann's Cemetery, 72 Church Street, Cranston, RI.
