David Dugan
NEBO, N.C. - David Edward Dugan,
70, of Nebo, NC, passed away peacefully, with his family and friends by his side, after an extended battle with cancer, on Sunday, April 3, 2011.
David was born in Newport, Rhode Island on February 8, 1941 and was a son of the late David and Marjorie Gallagher Dugan.
He was a self-employed carpenter and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Dugan was involved in Methodist Mission Ministry and was a friend to many.
Surviving Mr. Dugan are his wife of 39 years, Pam Cooper Dugan, of the home; two children, Shaun R. Cooper of Portsmouth, RI and Dana Elaine Shaffer of Clarksville, TN; one sister, Linda Shoe of Middletown, RI and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held today, April 6, 2011 at 2 p.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Donald Morrison officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Trinity Methodist Church Cemetery.
The U.S. Military will provide military honors.
