Dorothy Hardy
TIVERTON - Dorothy (Boyer) Hardy,
91, of Tiverton passed away on Friday April 8, 2011 at her residence surrounded by family.
She was the wife of the late Alvin E. Hardy.
Dorothy was born in Fall River, MA the daughter of the late James J. and Alice (Williamson) Boyer.
She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School class of 1936 and went on to attend Bryant College.
Residing on the North Shore and Westfield Massachusetts for many years, she worked as a secretary, a music teacher and real estate agent.
Mrs. Hardy was a member of the Newport County Women’s Club, Tiverton Historical Society and the Tiverton Garden Club.
She enjoyed classical music, travel and gardening.
Dorothy co-authored an article in the 1976 Patchwork History of Tiverton, RI.
Survivors are two sons: Douglas L. Hardy of Scituate, MA; Stuart B. Hardy of Tiverton, RI; a daughter Lauren H. Wolley of The Woodlands, TX; three grandchildren: Grace Natale, Cynthia Hardy and Jason Wolley; a great-grandson: Blake.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson Street, Fall River, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow in Pocasset Hill Cemetery in Tiverton, RI.
