WOODSTOCK, Ga. - Kathleen Margaret Smith,
63, died with her family by her side at Kennestone Hospital on Sunday, April 17, 2011.
A memorial service was held at the Roswell Funeral Home in Roswell, GA today, April 20, 2011.
Kathleen was born on June 7, 1947 in Albany, NY to Richard and Catherine Gregory. She met Earl Smith and married him soon afterward on October 2, 1966. Soon afterward they moved to California followed by Rhode Island. Kathy raised both of her daughters in Rhode Island, where she lived and worked until 2005.
In 2005, she moved to Georgia to enjoy the warmer climate. She worked at Crane Nuclear Incorporated in Kennesaw.
Kathleen’s interests included cross-stitch, board games, dancing, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted and caring wife, mother, Nana, and sister. Kathleen was a woman who always put others needs before her own and filled our lives with joy.
She is survived by her sisters Anne, Mary, Gloria, and Margaret; brothers Mike, and Bob; daughter Tracy and her spouse Mike; daughter Heather and her spouse Jody; grandchildren Kylee, Lauren, Nicole, and Jody Roy; spouse Earl S. Smith.
