PORTSMOUTH - Frank Alfred Clark,
80, of Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, December 27, 2010 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI.
He was the husband of Marcia M. M. Clark.
Born in New York, NY on February 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Frank Alfred and Anna (Eagleson) Clark.
Colonel Clark served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After retirement, Electric Boat, General Dynamics, employed him. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1961. He is holder of the Silver Star and numerous other awards. Colonel Clarks last assignment was Senior Marine at the Naval War College.
Besides his wife of 38 years, his daughter Kathleen Shelton and her husband William of Marietta, GA survive him.
He had a son Michael William Clark, who was lost-at-sea.
His service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 2 p.m., in St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Interment will follow the service in the churchyard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association of Rhode Island, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
