NEWPORT - Harriet Maria Williams,
91, of AHEPA Apartments, Newport, died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Newport Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Mitchell Williams.
Born on September 25, 1919 in New Bedford, MA, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Busby and Frances Granger.
Harriet was an avid reader and loved to knit scarves, hats and blankets until her sight began to deteriorate. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall in Newport.
She is survived by her son Lindsey Edmonds of Newport; her granddaughters Darlene Johnston of Fairfax, VA and Michelle Parker of Waldorf, MD; two great-grandchildren Alyse and Isaiah of Fairfax, VA; her sister Louisa Busby of New Bedford, MA; her daughter-in-law Luvinia Busby of Oakdale, CT and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was the mother of the late Roger Busby.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, 36 Hillside Avenue, Newport.
Funeral arrangements are with the O’Neill -Hayes Funeral Home, Newport.
Donations may be made in Harriet's name to Kingdom Hall.
