MIDDLETOWN - Blanche (Lincourt) Mathews,
85, of Prospect Avenue, Middletown, died Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Newport Hospital.
She was the wife of the late William J. Mathews for 63 years.
Born in Newport on April 16, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Felix and Rose (Lemaire) Lincourt.
She was a graduate of St. Catherine Academy in Newport. Blanche enjoyed caring for her family, cooking, and spending time with her friends.
Her son Bill Mathews and daughter-in-law Karen of St. Petersburg, FL, granddaughter Katie Mathews of New York City; grandson Zach of St. Petersburg, FL; her sisters Monica Marcucci of Middletown, RI, and Mary Fess of Rochester, NY; her brothers Bill Lincourt of Newport, and Henry Lincourt of California; and many nieces and nephews survive her.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 10 a.m. in St. Augustin Church, Carroll Avenue, Newport. Burial at St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
