NEWPORT - Roberta Agnes Young,
84, of Heatherwood Health Care Center, Newport, RI, formerly of Warner Street, Newport, RI, died on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the center.
She was the wife of the late Frank Young, Jr.
Born in Newport, RI on November 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Belle L. (Jenkins) Wiggington.
For many years Mrs. Young was a foster mother for many children. She enjoyed ceramics and was a member of the Martin Luther King Center.
Her sister Ruth Alice Young and her aunt Sarah Jenkins both of Newport, RI, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great-nieces and nephews survive her.
She was the sister of the late George A. Wiggington and Eugene W. Wiggington.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 1 p.m. in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. Burial will be in Island Annex Cemetery in Newport, RI.
