SOUTH KINGSTOWN - Corinne (Chase) Toplosky,
82, of Lee Road, Wakefield, Rhode Island 02879, formerly of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 11, 2009.
She was the wife of the late Louis Joseph Toplosky.
Born in Newport, she was a daughter of the late Louis Rodman and Anita Bryant (Johnson) Chase.
Mrs. Toplosky graduated from Rogers High School in 1944 and received a diploma in Nursing from the University of Michigan.
She was a registered nurse and traveled extensively throughout Europe with her husband Louis.
She was an avid reader, bird and nature lover, and she enjoyed classical music.
She leaves three children and their families: Nadia Toplosky-Friedman and her husband Zev of Maryland; John Toplosky of Beynes, France and his children, Antonia and Julia Toplosky; and Norman Toplosky and his wife Maria of Wakefield, Rhode Island and their children, Loren Riskin and her husband Daniel, Seth, and Sean Toplosky. She also leaves three sisters-in-law: Kay Toplosky of New Jersey, Mary Alice Chase of Newport, and Eleanor Chase of Jamestown; and three dear young people who were a huge part of her life: Loan, Linda and Tony Nyugen of Virginia.
She was the sister of the late Rodman Chase, Barton Chase, Priscilla “Pat” Matsumiya, and Anita Bryant Chase-Twomey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 2 p.m. in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 55 Main Street, Wickford, RI. Her burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013, or the charity of your choice, will be appreciated.
