GREENFIELD, Mass. - Shirley (Lunden) Stringham Barrows,

83, of Keegan Lane, Greenfield, MA, passed peacefully at home Wednesday, July 22, 2009, in the loving presence of her three children.
Prior to moving to Massachusetts, she resided at Blenheim Newport for 8 years.
She and her late husband, Ed Barrows were proprietors of the Sea Whale Motel in Middletown for 20 years. She was a member of United Congregational Church, the Chamber of Commerce, the Norman Bird Sanctuary, and the Newport Art Museum.

She is survived by her children, Charles Stringham and his wife, Cathy, of Florida, Linda Sarage with whom she lived, and Karen Stringham Colberg and her husband, Dennis, of Rhode Island. She leaves seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers and two sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
