C. Neil Sullivan
LEAGUE CITY, Texas - Cornelius "Neil" Joseph Sullivan

was born June 28, 1930 in Newport, Rhode Island, the son of John Francis and Catherine Gillies Sullivan.
As a youngster he enjoyed beaching, surfing, sailing and tennis at this beautiful seaside city.
During World War II, Neil developed a strong desire to serve his country in the military. His first military organization was a high school Jr. ROTC unit where he became Cadet Captain. After taking his Congressmanís competitive exam for an Academy appointment, he placed first and received a principal appointment to enter West Point with the class of 1954. Upon graduation Neil transferred to the Air Force and entered pilot training. Throughout his professional career Neil was a globally qualified Aircraft Commander, was awarded a Masters degree in Electrical engineering and became a registered professional engineer. In 1964, NASA was seeking engineers to staff the new Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, Texas. The space agency offered Neil a position, which led him to retire from Air Force active duty but was immediately commissioned in the active Air Force Reserves.
Neil met the love of his life Lorraine in Rome, New York and they were married in 1961. As a result of this union, they were blessed with five wonderful children.
Neil passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Sullivan; sister Marion Sullivan; son, Michal Sullivan; and daughter, Kathryn Wolfe.
Neil is survived by his wife, Lorraine Sullivan of League City, Texas; daughters, Tricia and husband Dean Beckman and Sheila and husband Michael Wilmoth; son, Tim Sullivan and wife Kristen; grandchildren, Adam, Nicholas, Caroline and Emma; and his sister, Agnes Sullivan of Newport, Rhode Island.
