PORTSMOUTH - Roseida M. (Aguiar) Faria,
93, of Dexter Street, Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at Grand Islander Health Care Center in Middletown, RI.
She was the wife of the late Frank Faria and the late Joseph Medeiros.
Born in Portsmouth, RI on August 31, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Anna (Raposa) Aguiar.
Mrs. Faria worked as a supervisor for Firestone, General Electric and Forest Farm Nursing Home as a young woman. She was a Communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in Portsmouth. Rose was a member of the Portsmouth Senior Center and the Portsmouth Democratic Women's Club. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed helping senior citizens.
Her grandchildren, Michael P. Faria, William F. Faria, Sherri L. Ariel and June M. Parks, her sister, Angela M. Pimental, and four great-grandchildren survive her.
She was the mother of the late Francis G. Faria and the sister of the late Francis Aguiar, Joseph A. Aguiar, Manuel Aguiar, John Aguiar, Joseph S. Aguiar, Jr., Isabel Aguiar and Mary Cabral.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at 10 a.m. from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial, at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery, Turner and Wyatt Road, Middletown, RI.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday morning, July 30, 2009, from 9-10 a.m. in the funeral home.
