Joseph J. Catanzaro
TIVERTON - Joseph John Catanzaro,
67, of Blackbird Street, Tiverton, RI, formerly of Symes Pond Road, Barnet, VT, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at home.
He was the husband of Marion L. (Papineau) Catanzaro.
Born in Providence, RI on October 8, 1940, he is the son of Anna (Faella) Catanzaro of Greenville, RI.
Mr. Catanzaro was a truck driver for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion in Woodsville, NH. Mr. Catanzaro was an antique car enthusiast, a member of the Vintage Chevrolet Club and the Model A. Ford Club.
Besides his wife of 12 years, he is survived by his son Joseph J. Catanzaro, Jr. of Orlando, FL, his stepson David Papineau of Portsmouth, RI, his daughter Wendy Polk of High Springs, FL, his brother Bartholomew Catanzaro of Johnston, RI, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008, at 9 a.m. from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial, at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 265 Stafford Road, Tiverton. Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 19, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
