Gisele Faerber
NEWPORT - Gisele “Gigi” Faerber
passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2008.
She was a resident of the John Clarke Nursing Center and former resident of McCormick Road and Bush Street, Newport.
Gigi was born in Tien Tsin, China in 1924 while her father and grandfather were part of the French Ministry of Commerce. She was the daughter of the late Madeleine Saussine of Nice, France, and Marc Duval, of Paris, France, and sister of the late Yves Duval of Paris, France.
Gigi was the wife of the late Frederick W. Faerber, Jr., former local attorney.
She was an employee of the former Newport National Bank until retirement.
Gigi was the mother of six.
Francis Faerber, her son, predeceased her in September 2007.
Frederick Faerber, III, and Mary Foley of Portsmouth, RI; Gisele Napolitano and Janet Faerber of Middletown, RI; and Marc Faerber of Pleasanton, CA survive her.
Her grandchildren include Marc Faerber of Seattle, WA, Renee Fuca of Ontario, Canada, Traci Gearhart of Indian Trail, NC, Kim Napolitano of Newport, RI, Patrick Faerber of Hockessin, DE, Alicia Johnson of Winston-Salem, NC, Aimee Lominac of Chelsea, MA, Kristin Speck and William Foley of Portsmouth, RI, Jonathan Faerber of Campbell, CA, and Meghan Faerber of Pleasanton, CA.
She had 8 great-grandchildren and one due shortly.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at 9 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be private.
