PORTSMOUTH - Daniel T. Martin,
92, of Cedar Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.
He was the husband of the late Alice (Garcia) Martin.
Born in Fall River, MA on December 14, 1915, he was the son of the late Thomas H. and Octavia (Lucas) Martin.
Mr. Martin served in the United States Army, during World War II. He owned and operated "Martin Signs, Newport, RI, from the mid 1950's to 1987. Mr. Martin was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church, a member of the Portsmouth Multi Purpose Senior Center and was also an accomplished piano player.
His friends Howard and Judith Geiger of Portsmouth, RI survive him.
He was the father of the late Daniel T. Martin.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at 9 a.m., from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial, at 10 a.m., in St. Anthony's Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.
