Lillian M. Sweet
BRISTOL - Lillian May Sweet,
89, of Bristol, Rhode Island, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home.
Lillian was born in Providence, Rhode Island on February 27, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Irving and Ida Sweet.
Her daughter, Diane Hatley of Pinellas Park, Florida and her grandchildren, Irene Wheton, Sarah Hatley and Dale Hatley, and one great-grandchild, Hailee Wheton, survive her.
She served in the Womens Army Auxiliary Corps (WACS) in the 1857th Unit at Ft. Sam, Houston, Texas, during WWII. After obtaining her nursing degree, she served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in Korea during the Korean War.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, Rhode Island.
