NEWPORT - Jaime M. Santos,
63, of 189 Third Street, Newport, RI, died Friday, March 10, 2006, surrounded by his family at the Newport Hospital.
He was the husband of Carol A. (Smith) Santos.
Born in Paranaque City in the Phillipines, on December 24, 1942, he was the son of the late Milanio and Logeria (Marques) Santos.
Mr. Santos served for 22 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was a chef for 20 years at Ney Hall on the Newport Naval Base. Mr. Santos was a member of The Filipino-American Association. He was an avid fisherman and loved to play poker.
Besides his wife of 32 years, he is survived by his children Daniel J. Santos of Middletown, RI, Jaime M. Santos Jr. of Middletown, RI, Carol A. Mosher of Orlando, FL, and Gina M. Fleming of Tiverton, RI, and their spouses Debra Santos, Denee Santos, David Mosher and Robert Fleming; his brothers Rodolfo Santos and Francisco Santos of the Phillipines, six grandchildren, Tanya Santos, Crystle Santos, Ryan Mosher, Jaime M. Santos III, Kayla Fleming and Olivia Fleming and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Phillipines.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at 8:00 a.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, West Main Road, Middletown.
Callings hours will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2006, from 4-8 p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport,
