PORTSMOUTH - Ann (Crossen) Madden,
79, of 3225 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Friday, February 10, 2006, at the Haven Health Center, in Rocky Hill, CT.
She was the former spouse of the late Thomas N. Madden.
Born in Fall River, MA, on November 18, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James Francis and Kathryn (Harrington) Crosson.
Mrs. Madden worked most recently as an office manager for a medical office, but she dedicated much of her time to her hobby, photography. An avid photographer of the Newport and Portsmouth areas, she had her works exhibited in the Newport Art Museum, the Portsmouth Public Library, locations in Bristol, RI, and other sites in Connecticut. She was also a founding member of the Ostomy Association of Fall River, MA, a volunteer in the ER at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, and a volunteer in the Oncology Department at St. Anne´s Hospital in Fall River.
She is survived by a son, Thomas M. Madden, of Cromwell, CT, two daughters, Mary Gilbert and her husband David, of Jacksonville, FL, and Ann-Marie Madden Irwin and her husband Charles, of Austin, TX; a sister, Margaret M. Dunn and her husband William, of Portsmouth, RI; two granddaughters, Grace A. Gilbert and Rebecca "Beckie" Gilbert of Jacksonville, FL; and two grandsons, Christian Gilbert of Jacksonville, FL, and Michael James Madden and his wife Meaghan, of Boston, MA.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Francis and James Crosson.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, February 13, 2006, at 10 a.m., in St. Anthony's Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fall River.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 12, 2006, from 3-5 p.m. in the Connors Funeral Home.
