James W. Lentz
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - James William Lentz,
age 77, a longtime resident of Framingham and formerly of New Bedford, MA, died Friday, September 16, 20005 at the Northeast Specialty Hospital in Natick.
He is the husband of 54 years to Madelyn (Hines) Lentz of Framingham.
Born and raised in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Julia (Cantwell) Lentz.
Mr. Lentz was a graduate of the New Bedford Textile Institute with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry.
During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Lentz had worked for the Coz Chemical Company in Northbridge as a sales manager for 36 years.
He was an active member in the Whitinsville Golf Club, St. Jeremiah's Parish and St. Vincent de Paul Society both in Framingham.
Besides his wife Madelyn, Mr. Lentz is survived by his children, David Lentz and his wife Patricia of Portsmouth, RI, Kristina and her husband Robert Fields of Portland, Oregon, Peter Lentz and his wife Maureen of Westwood, Ann and her husband Joe Hansberry of Framingham, Paul Lentz of Marblehead; 12 grandchildren, Micaela and Daniel Lentz, Andrew and Catherine Fields, Anna and Colleen Lentz, Joseph, Benjamin and Jack Hansberry, Cooper, Madison and Griffin Lentz.
He is also survived by his brother Robert Lentz of Madison, CT, and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Charles and Joseph Lentz and Catherine Burns.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at 9 a.m. from the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street, (corner of Union Avenue), Framingham, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George's Church, 74 School Street, Framingham.
A private burial will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Visiting hours at the funeral home will be today, September 20, 2005, from 4-8 p.m.
