Rice ~ Hagerman

Holly Rene Rice and Lt. J. G. Clayton Robert

Houston, Texas ~ Miss Holly Rene Rice and Lt. J. G. Clayton Robert Hagerman, both of Houston, Texas, were united in marriage Friday, July 23, 2010, at the historic Kay Chapel in Newport, RI. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Randall Cox, a family friend from Houston, Texas.

The bride wore a family heirloom gown originally purchased by her grandmother, Mrs. Shelby Woodson Zedekar, in 1955 and then worn by her mother, Ms. Joan René Rice, and since lovingly restored for Holly. Holly lovingly restored the gown to feature a bodice with a sweetheart neckline detailed with the original scalloped lace, and skirt made with volumes of tulle and the antique lace appliquéd throughout.
The Bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth D. Rice and Miss Farrelle A. Rice, sisters of the Bride, and Mrs. Holly Hagerman Caughron, sister of the Groom. The Groomsmen were Mr. R. Travis Rice, brother of the bride, and Dr. S. Chap Caughron, brother-in-law of the groom.
As the recessional song played “Anchors Away” the newly married couple exited the chapel through an arch of swords and proceeded to The Chandler Hotel for the wedding reception. Another reception will be held at The River Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.

Miss Rice is the daughter of Ms. Joan René Rice and Dr. John Farrell Rice, of Houston, Texas, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Zedekar of Houston, TX, and Mrs. R. D. Rice of Hilltop, TX. Holly graduated with a BS from the University of Texas at Austin. Lt. J. G. Hagerman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John David Hagerman of Houston, Texas and Newport, RI. Clayton graduated with a BBA from Southern Methodist University, and an MBA from Rice University.
